Our 4x4 adventure takes you along rugged tracks toward the Jbel Madouar El Kbir mountains, often called the Colorado of the Moroccan Desert due to their dramatic red cliffs and sculpted rock formations. Our first stop is the Laarjimia Oasis, a peaceful desert retreat. Here, you can soak in the scenery of surrounding peaks, relax beneath the shade of lush date palms, and watch local wildlife gather at the water well.

From there, we continue to the village of Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi. Explore the vibrant oasis, see the traditional crops that sustain the local community, wander through the authentic village streets, and visit the sacred tomb of Marabout Sidi Abdenabi. A hearty lunch at our desert camp allows you to savor traditional Moroccan flavors before heading off by 4x4 toward Jbel Bani. A short 50-minute walk brings you to the site of prehistoric rock engravings and paintings, a rare and fascinating glimpse into the region’s ancient history.

Next, venture to the dunes of Erg El Mhazil, where the Sahara stretches out in golden waves. These quiet, expansive sands are perfect for photography, peaceful reflection, or simply marveling at the desert’s raw beauty.

As the day draws to a close, we return to your hotel in Foum Zguid, with stops along the way to discover fossils embedded in the desert floor, remnants of a time when these lands were covered by ancient seas.
