This stay will let you discover the vast landscapes of Iriki National Park from Foum Zguid for a complete change of scenery. On the agenda, you can admire the stunning sunsets from the top of the Erg El Mhazil dunes, enjoy dinners around the campfire, followed by evenings spent gazing at the brilliantly starry desert sky. You can also enjoy a camel ride through the dunes, followed by a picnic to experience the untouched natural surroundings
Departure from Foum Zguid in the early afternoon aboard your 4x4, heading toward the vast desert of Erg El M’Hazil. The track crosses the expansive mineral plains of Iriki National Park, where the landscapes gradually change: rocky plateaus, silent vastness, and sparse vegetation shaped by the Saharan climate.
We will make a stop at a peaceful oasis, offering a privileged view of the table mountains and the famous “Tajine” mountain. With some luck, you may spot dromedaries coming to drink at the well.
Upon arrival at the camp, a welcome tea will be served before climbing the large dune to admire an unforgettable sunset over the sea of sand. In the distance, the contours of Djebel Bani unfold before you—a suspended moment where only the desert’s beauty and the whisper of the wind remain.
You will then enjoy a traditional dinner prepared on-site, followed by time around the fire to take in the purest starry sky. Overnight will be in a comfortable tent, or under the open sky for those who wish.
At sunrise, don’t miss the magical spectacle of the sun slowly illuminating the dunes, followed by an authentic breakfast.
We will then set out for a hike accompanied by dromedaries, either walking beside them or riding. This trek through the dunes will allow you to discover the life that exists in this extreme environment: animal tracks, adapted plants, and the desert’s survival secrets. Lunch will be served in the heart of the dunes, surrounded by an exceptional natural setting.
Returning to the bivouac in the afternoon, you will have free time to rest or explore the surroundings. After dinner, a convivial evening around the fire will immerse you in nomadic culture, with songs and percussion rhythms. Another peaceful night awaits, either in a tent or under the stars.
After a hearty breakfast, we will depart by 4x4 toward Foum Zguid. Along the way, we will visit a fossil site that bears witness to the presence of the sea here millions of years ago. Crossing the dried-up Iriki Lake then reveals the vastness and freedom of the desert.
You will leave with unforgettable memories: grand landscapes, authentic moments of sharing, and a renewed energy drawn from the tranquility of the Sahara.
